Although the surface of ABS sensor probe is almost completely covered by metal, it is a delicate thing in Abs Sensor practical use.

Because its position is close to the bearing, it is easy to be dirty or even rusted by all kinds of dust and butter in the bearing over a long time, filling the dirt between it and the wheel hub ring gear, affecting the magnetic induction detection effect.

Many ABS sensor failure cases are caused by excessive application of bearing grease, which is easy to be squeezed onto the probe when Abs Sensor installing the wheel. It may affect the sensitivity of the ABS probe, or it may directly cause the probe to be unable to sense the ring gear, resulting in the failure of the ABS system.

Whether it is the axle sensor bracket or the later manual welding installation method, this situation is very common. The butter, dust and metal debris falling from the brake Abs Sensor pad all accumulate on the probe surface.

Correlation Between Bearing Grease And Abs Sensor

Use chemical oil cleaning agent for cleaning, and apply butter evenly after cleaning to prevent rust in the bushing support.

The prevention and treatment method of this situation is very simple, that is, do not apply too much butter to the bearing, and do it in an appropriate amount. During cleaning, only take the probe out of the support, clean it thoroughly, and then apply a layer of butter evenly between it and the bushing to prevent rust in the support in the future.

After cleaning, completely insert the ABS probe into the support from the rear, and be sure to push it to the bottom. With the correct wheel installation method, it can return to normal operation.

In addition to the ABS sensor probe, the gear ring on the hub also needs to be cleaned regularly, and both the probe and the gear ring need to be kept clean. Of course, when cleaning, first check whether the sensor probe cable is intact. If the cable is broken, no matter how you clean it, you can only replace the probe.

In fact, the method of cleaning the ABS sensor probe and ring gear is very simple, and it is not as troublesome as expected. As long as the ABS system works normally, we only need to pay attention to their cleanliness during wheel maintenance. Only in this way can the ABS system always monitor the running state of the wheels.

In case of bearing failure in mechanical equipment, when disassembling the bearing for maintenance, record the appearance of the bearing, check the residual amount of lubricant in the bearing, sample and save the lubricant, and select kerosene or gasoline to simply clean the bearing.

Clean the disassembled bearing, first conduct rough cleaning, and then conduct fine cleaning. Place the bearing on the container and place the metal mesh as the bottom to prevent the bearing from directly removing the dirt at the bottom of the container.

During rough cleaning, the bearing shall not rotate with dirt to avoid damaging the rolling surface of the bearing. After removing the adhesive and grease with a brush, enter the fine washing step. Place the bearing in the cleaning oil and clean it while rotating.

When the cleaning oil is dirty, replace it in time to ensure the fine cleaning effect. In order to judge that the disassembled bearing can continue to be used, it is necessary to check after bearing cleaning.

The inspection items of the bearing include: bearing foreign matters, bearing clearance, bearing dimensional accuracy, bearing frame wear, mating surface status, rolling surface status, raceway surface status, ball or roller operation status, etc.

For non separable small ball bearings, use one hand to level the inner ring of the bearing, and confirm whether the bearing can run smoothly by rotating the outer ring. For round cone roller bearings, the raceway surface and rolling element of the outer ring shall be inspected.
