Rotary table bearing is a kind of large-scale bearing with special structure, which can bear large comprehensive loads such as axial load, radial load and overturning moment at the same time, and integrates multiple functions such as support, rotation, transmission and fixation. Therefore, when installing the rotary table bearing, we must do a good job in relevant inspection or matters needing attention during installation. For this large bearing, we must do a good job in maintenance and storage, so as to avoid the following damage to the rotary table bearing, resulting in failure of normal use.
Before the installation of the rotary table bearing, the installation surface of the main engine shall be checked. The support shall have sufficient strength, the connecting surface shall be machined, and the surface shall be flat without sundries and burrs. For those that cannot be machined to achieve the required flatness, special plastic with high injection strength can be used as filler to ensure the accuracy of installation plane and vibration reduction.
The ring of the rotary table bearing has a quenched soft belt area, which is marked with “s” on the end face of the ring. During installation, the soft belt shall be placed in the non load area or non frequent load area (the plug hole is always located at the soft belt).
When installing the rotary table bearing, conduct radial positioning first, tighten the mounting bolts crosswise, and check the rotation of the bearing. There shall be sufficient pre tightening force when tightening the bolt, and the pre tightening force shall be 70% of the yield limit of the bolt material. The mounting bolts shall be equipped with quenched and Tempered Flat Washers, and the use of spring washers is strictly prohibited.

After the installation of the rotary table bearing, an appropriate amount of grease shall be filled, and the bearing shall be rotated while filling to make the grease evenly distributed. After working for a period of time, the rotary table bearing will inevitably lose some lubricating grease. Therefore, the lubricating grease of the rotary table bearing in normal operation should be supplemented every 50 ~ 100 hours.
during transportation, the bearing shall be placed horizontally on the vehicle, and measures shall be taken to prevent sliding and vibration, and auxiliary support shall be added if necessary.

Bearings with water as lubricant are generally sliding bearings. Babbitt alloy used in early water lubricated bearings has long been used in the field of ships, because water can provide hydrodynamic film under certain conditions. Water lubricated bearings are based on self-lubricating materials and combined with the lubricity of water under certain conditions, so as to be used in hydropower stations and other fields. Water does not have the same high viscosity and lubricity as the recognized lubricant petroleum.
Water does have limited viscosity and density, so it can provide hydrodynamic membrane. The research and development of superior water lubricated bearings will be based on materials and design, which should have good self sliding and excellent friction resistance.
