NSK Self-aligning ball bearings are recommended for applications where the shaft and housing are difficult to align or where the shaft may be bent, such as drive shafts. Self-aligning ball bearings have a spherical raceway on the outer ring whose centre of curvature coincides with the centre of curvature of the bearing, allowing the axis of the inner ring, ball and cage to rotate freely around the centre of the bearing.
Thrust ball bearings are designed to carry axial (thrust) loads at high speeds, but they cannot carry any radial loads. These bearings feature bearing washers with raceway grooves in which the balls move. Thrust ball bearings are mainly divided into Double-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings and Single-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings.

Cylindrical roller bearing types：
Tapered roller bearings are designed so that the imaginary cone apexes formed by the inner and outer ring raceways and rollers converge on a point on the bearing axis. The trapezoidal tapered rollers used as rolling elements are guided by a large retaining edge on the inner ring.
Tapered roller bearings are divided into normal, medium and large angle types according to their contact angle. In addition to the two-row type, there are also four-row tapered roller bearings. Pressed cages are usually used, but larger bearings may use pin cages.
Spherical roller bearings are available in types EA, C, CD and CA and are designed for high load capacities. Types EA, C and CD use stamped steel cages, while CA uses machined brass cages. All EA types are high performance standard NSKHPS series bearings.
Spherical roller bearings with the “E4” suffix have oil grooves and holes in the outer ring. Due to the limited depth of the oil grooves in these bearings, we recommend that oil grooves are also used in the housing bores.
NSK’s axial roller bearings are only axially loaded, but are suitable for heavy loads and provide high axial rigidity. The main types of thrust roller bearings are: Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings; Tapered Roller Thrust Bearings and Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings.
