First of all, when using Timken bearings, some equipment have particularly strict requirements for their own clearance. If the clearance is too large, even a little large, it will easily wear the parts of the equipment.
So we have to reduce the clearance to solve this problem, but another problem arises, that is, if the clearance is too small, the problem of heat dissipation, If the heat dissipation is improper, it will easily lead to the increase of internal temperature, and eventually cause the bearing to overheat and burn!
The second may be excessive load (excessive preloading). Excessive speed. The clearance is too small. Intrusion of water or other foreign matters. If neither of the above two cases is true, the accuracy of the shaft and bearing housing is poor and the deflection of the shaft is large.
Seeing this, I think everyone wants to know the solution. First, we should study the lubricant and lubrication methods, select the right Timken deep groove ball bearing lubricant and its dosage, and correct the selection of bearings.
Study the fit, bearing clearance and preloading, and improve the sealing device. Check the accuracy of the shaft and bearing housing. Of course, if you have a friend next to you, let him operate and you can learn from him!
1. Bearing cleaning
After the lubricant groove is removed, check the appearance of the bearing and record the remaining lubricant when the bearing is disassembled. As a cleaning agent, gasoline and kerosene are commonly used.
The cleaning of the removed bearing can be divided into coarse cleaning and fine cleaning. Put the metal mesh pad on the bottom of the container respectively, so that the bearing does not directly contact the dirt of the container.
During rough cleaning, if the bearing rotates with dirt, it will damage the rolling surface of the bearing, which should be paid attention to. In the coarse cleaning oil, use a brush to remove the grease and adhesion. After it is roughly clean, turn to fine cleaning.
In addition, the cleaning oil should always be kept clean.
2. Maintenance and judgment of bearing
In order to judge whether the disassembled bearing can be reused, it is necessary to check after the bearing is cleaned, and carefully check the state of raceway surface, rolling surface and mating surface, the wear of cage,
the increase of bearing clearance and whether there are damages and abnormalities related to the decline of dimensional accuracy. For non separable small ball bearing, support the inner ring horizontally with one hand and rotate the outer ring to confirm whether it is smooth.
Tapered roller bearings and other separable bearings can inspect the raceway surfaces of rolling elements and outer rings respectively.
Since large bearings cannot be rotated by hand, pay attention to the appearance of rolling elements, raceways, cages and retaining surfaces. The higher the importance of bearings, the more careful the inspection is.
The judgment of whether the deep groove ball bearing can be reused is determined by considering the damage degree, mechanical performance, importance, operating conditions and the period until the next maintenance. However, if there are the following defects, they can no longer be used and must be replaced with new bearings:
(a) Cracks or notches on any one of the inner ring, outer ring, rolling element and cage;
(b) Any one of the ferrule and rolling element is broken;
(c) There is significant jamming on the raceway surface, retaining edge and rolling body;
(d) Significant wear of cage or significant relaxation of rivets;
(e) There is rust and damage on the raceway surface and rolling element;
(f) There are serious indentation and indentation on the raceway surface and rolling element;
(g) There is obvious creep on the inner diameter surface of the inner ring or the outer diameter surface of the outer ring;
(h) Obvious discoloration caused by heat;
(i) The bearing, sealing ring or dust cover sealed with grease is obviously damaged.
Internal factors mainly refer to the three factors that determine the quality of bearings, such as structural design, manufacturing process and material quality. The metallurgical quality of deep groove ball bearing material was once the main factor affecting the early failure of Timken bearing.
With the progress of Metallurgical Technology (such as vacuum Deep Groove Ball Bearing degassing of bearing steel), the quality of raw materials has been improved. The proportion of raw material quality factor in bearing failure analysis has decreased significantly,
but it is still one of the main Deep Groove Ball Bearing influencing factors of deep groove ball bearing failure. Proper material selection is still a factor that must be considered in bearing failure analysis.
