Many people say that the bearings are refurbished when they say that there is a problem with the quality of the bearings. They subjectively believe that refurbished bearings are synonymous with counterfeit and shoddy bearings.
How to identify Refurbished Bearings
Look:Observe the appearance of the bearing. After all, recycled and refurbished bearings are used. Even if cleaned, traces of use can be seen on the bearing; look at the bearing lubricant or anti-rust oil. After a year of storage, a single box of antirust oil will be fixed, and the newly applied antirust oil should be unfixed.
Odor:When you open the bearing, fresh grease smell is usually emitted inside the refurbished bearing. Please note that this is not the real smell of grease, but the anti-rust oil applied on the outside. Due to the simple production tools in the refurbishing workshop, there is often no professional anti-rust powder and the anti-rust oil is all machine oil.
Ask:Ask the seller, don’t be stingy if you have doubts, say it without hesitation, observe the seller’s reflection and then make a decision.
Cut: If you carry the inspection tool, by testing the inner and outer diameter accuracy and clearance of the bearing, you can easily determine whether the bearing is a refurbished bearing
Even some international well-known brands such as NSK bearings, Schaeffler, SKF bearings, due to installation or other problems caused by bearing damage, also belong to the refurbishment problem. In fact, refurbished bearings is just a common name. The so-called refurbished bearings have two kinds of cases:
One is the recycling of used bearings, which can be divided into a variety of situations. The main situations encountered are batch elimination after disassembly of equipment after refurbished bearings, as well as regular maintenance after the low price of disposal of used bearings. Generally this kind of bearings have been used, just good or bad. However, the inner and outer rings and end surfaces will be scratched, and the internal rollers, raceways and cage have been worn. Some unscrupulous traders recycle bearings at low prices and refurbish them.
It mainly includes: cleaning small miniature deep groove ball bearings, super fine grinding, oil change, seal ring or dust cover, and then repackage and sell. Large bearings are treated differently according to the wear condition, including inner and outer ring fine grinding, roller fine grinding and cage acid treatment (corrosion of external oxidized copper to show a more beautiful appearance) or replacement parts. This type of bearing cannot meet the tolerance requirements and slewing accuracy requirements of ordinary bearings in terms of accuracy, so it has a great impact on customers in secondary sales. This kind of bearing is mainly for retail sale, the number of recycled is small and the style is many.
Then there is the recycling of a large number of unused bearings, including many imported bearings and domestic bearings. Generally speaking, the enterprises dealing with such a large quantity of bearings are local backbone enterprises, which are disposed of due to conversion or closing down resulting in inventory backlog. Since they belong to a single type and a large quantity, they are mostly sold wholesale. The main sales channel is peer transfer or secondary sales.
Generally speaking, such bearing products have bearing quality except for the bearing with grease whose service life has expired. The bearings can be sold after simple cleaning and anti-rust packaging. In the quality does not affect the use, but because of bearing refurbishment and not popular.
